SYDNEY. The New Zealand boys* Linton Cup tennis team yesterday had a win over Tasmania, but lost to New South Wales. Results:— New Zealand 3, Tasmania 0 D. Walker beat N. Milne, 6-3, 6-0; R. McGhie beat C. McKibbin, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4; P. Gunning and McGhie beat Milne and D. Radin, 6-3, 8-6. New Zealand 0, New South Wales 3 Gunning lost to A. McDonald, 3-6, 9-11; Walker lost to G. Perkins, 1-6. 1-6; Gunning and Walker lost to McDonald and Perkins, 8-10, 2-6. In the girls’ Wilson Cup contest, New Zealand lost all of its matches against Victoria and New South Wales. Results:— New Zealand 0. Victoria 3 A. Hodgson lost to J. Whyte, t-6, 2-6; M. Pryde lost to J. Young, 3-6, 4-6; Hodgson and S. Mends lost to J. Young and C. Sieler, 3-6, 3-6. New Zealand 0, New South Wales 3Pryde lost to E. Geolagong, 5-7, 2-6; Hodgson lost to P. Coleman, 1-6, 1-6; Hodgson and Mends lest to Goolagong and P. Edwards. 1-6, 1-6.
