Rider’s Two Successes

(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE. The Australian rider, L. Ball, was first, on Pontoon, and second, on Moonbi, in the A Grade events at the New Zealand Horse Society’s three-day jumping show, which started yesterday. In a jump-off with Moonbi and Tide, ridden by R. B. Hansen (Gisborne), Pontoon had three clear rounds. Both Moonbi and Tide had two clear rounds and four faults in their third round. Moonbi gained second place because it jumped its third round faster than Tide. Another Gisborne horse. Walnut, ridden by S. A. Mitchell, was fourth.
