MALAYSIAN TRADE
N.Z. Exports Double (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter) KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 9. New Zealand's exports to Malaysia more than doubled between 1964 and 1968, the New Zealand Trade Commissioner (Mr E. M. Clayton) said today. He said his country's exports to Malaysia rose from SNZ4.2m in 1964 to nearly SNZIO.7m in 1968. Malaysia’s exports to New Zealand rose from SNZ4m to just over SNZ4.2m. Although the trade balance was in New Zealand’s favour, more than 60 per cent of her exports to Malaysia were dairy products which underwent further processing here. Mr Clayton was speaking at a function at which Royal Inter-Ocean Lines announced the introduction of a direct shipping service between Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand to cope with the increasing trade.
