No Approval By Minister
CN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 9. The Minister of Lands (Mr Maclntyre), today denied he had given his full approval to a plan to turn Walter Peak Station, Queenstown, into a full tourist scheme. In a statement, he said that in talking to the British millionaire behind the scheme, Mr G. Wiles, he had said that the Land Settlement Board had dealt with Mr Wiles’s application for his holdings to become a public company, and that as Minister of Lands Mr Maclntyre would be taking the proposals before the Cabinet as soon as possible. Mr Maclntyre was commenting on a report that he had given his approval to the scheme.
