(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Dec. 8. The Hamilton Fire Brigade’s rescue cutting gear was used to free a six-year-old boy from a cream can this morning. Peter Boyd, of Hinton’s Avenue, Forest Lake, was hiding in the can, used to hold ashes in a garden shed, while hunting a bird. His parents found him trapped. They packed him, can and all, Into the family car and took Mm to the Hamilton ambulance station. . But the ambulancemen could not help, and they called the fire brigade. Four firemen cut the bottom from the can and Peter was then able to stand up inside it After that it was a matter of working him out through the wide entrance. At 9 o’clock Peter was at school with a sore knee.
