THIRD RAIL FERRY
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 15. Five shipbuilders in three countries have tendered for the construction of a third rail ferry for the WellingtonPicton service. The general manager of railways (Mr I. Thomas) said today that the tenders were being evaluated by the department’s marine consultants in Britain. A report and recommendation would be prepared by the department as soon as. possible for submission to the Government.
