U.K. Family Released
W.Z.P A.-Reuter—Copvriphtt HONG KONG, Oct 14. The Chinese authorities have released another British national, Mr Eric Gordon, who, with his wife and teenage son, crossed, unannounced. into Hong Kong at Lo Wu today.
The Gordons, who are described as “in good health and good shape,” are being Interviewed bv Hong Kong Government officials. Mr Gordon and his family were detained tn November, 1967, after announcing that thev intended to return to Britain at the end of Mr Gordon’s contract as a translator and assistant editor with the foreign language press in Peking. The charges against them were never made public, and their exact whereabouts was not disclosed. No news of thr was received until February 11. 1969. when the office of the Chinese Charge d’Affaires in London told relatives that they had been detained for an investigation into their alleged breaches of Chinese regulations.
