Mass Welcome
(N.Z.P.A.-Seuter—Copyright) HONG KONG, Oct 12. Chairman Mao Tse-tung and Vice Chairman Lin Piao yesterday welcomed about 10,000 civilians and soldiers from various parts of China to Peking. The New China News Agency reports that the visitors were “outstanding representatives of workers, peasants, the Army, Red Guards and intellectuals,” who came to the capital to attend China’s twentieth anniversary celebrations 10 days ago. "Brimming with health and in high spirits, Chairman Mao clapped his hands and waved to the representatives very happily at the reception in the Great Hall of the People,” the agency said.
