No Arrest Of Former Nazi

(N.Z P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) JERUSALEM, Oct. 8. An Israeli Ministry of Justice spokesman said in Jerusalem tonight that no action would be taken against Dr Alois Fink, an authority on dog breeding and a former member of the Nazi Party now in Israel. The spokesman was answering reporters’ questions after an announcement by an Israeli organisation of former Nazi concentration camp inmates, that it had asked for the arrest of the West German veterinary surgeon. Dr Fink, who is in Israel at the invitation of the Israeli Kennel Club, judged the first international dog show held in Jerusalem last week-end. The Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Dr Fink had made a voluntary, sworn statement at the Israeli Embassy in Bonn stating that although he had been a member of the Nazi Party and had served on the Russian and Western Fronts during the Second World War, he

had not committed any crimes against Jews. “This puts him in the same category as most of the German tourists who visit Israel,” the spokesman added.
