Children On Buses
Sir,—lt is some consolation to be able to obtain a seat on • a bus in the school holidays, which cannot be said during the school term—at least, on • the St Martins or Huntsbury ■ bus around 8 a.m. to the city. School children travelling on concession tickets seem to be fairly glued to the seats while passengers of advancing years stand. Unfortunately the drivers on this route do not appear to have the same inter- , est as do the drivers on the
Cashmere-Papanui route, who, when the bus seats are all taken, instruct school children to vacate their seats for standing adult passengers. Let us hope that on the commencement of the new term the regulations will be enforced.—Yours, etc., GREF. August 26, 1969.
