Export To Perth
A Christchurch-made stone picker loaded in the Kaitoa at Lyttelton yesterday for Fremantle is the first machine of its type to go to Western Australia.
It has been bought by a company in Perth and will be shown at the Perth Royal Show next month. Three of the Christchurch stone pickers are already in South Australia. A spokesman for the manufacturers, G. B. Powell and Company, Ltd, said that they had received several inquiries from Australians when they showed the machine at the first national field days at Hamilton recently.
