Family To Stay
The British family refused entry to New Zealand at Christchurch Airport on June 11 because it had no permit has been granted permission to settle. ' Mr and Mrs L. Le Miere, their daughter-in-law and her son, were forced to return to Sydney aboard the same aircraft which brought them to Christchurch. Later the family was given permission to stay in the country for six months on temporary permits.
Mr Le Miere, who worked for 25 years with the Kenyan Farmers’ Association. and Mrs Le Miere were born in the Seychelles, a British Crown colony in the Indian Ocean.
