Highest or any tender not necessarily accepted. 7106 CLEANING AND PAINTING OF BRIDGE 226 PALMERSTON NORTH-GISBORNE LINE: WAIKOAU VIADUCT TENDERS are called for the cleaning end painting ot Railway Bridge, 226 Palmerston North-Gisborne Line over the Walkoau River, approximately 36 miles north of Napier. the bridge consists of 4/6Mt through plate girders. 1/250H deck Pratt Truss, 1/30H. l/SOtt, l/OOtt, l/40ft high steel towers. 1/Wtt, 1/5511 steel braces on concrete piers. Rail level is approximately 240 ft above the river. There are continuous footway* and windbreaks along both sides of the bridge. Th* contractor shall allow for 140 per cent sandblasting to bare metal for all steelwork in the bridge and painting of all steelwork, and all timber previously painted. Documents are available from the District Engineer’s Office, Room 216, Wellington Station building with whom tenders close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 37, 1969.

The bridge Is comprised of 35 No. 49ft steel plate girders which are to be partially sandblasted. cleaned and painted. Bridge 214 crosses the Nzaruroro River just north of Whakatu. The bridge is comprised of l/28ft, 2/29M. 2/30ft British Standard Steel Beams and 5/60ft through plate girders, which are to be 106 per cent sandblasted before painting, in accordance with the documents which are available from the District Engineer's Office.
