rajah sahib FANCIED
Doomben Cup Today (N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) BRISBANE. Rain and the prospect of a heavy track at Doomben today have .boosted the chances of the New Zealand-bred Rajah sahib in the Doomben Cup over 11 furlongs. Rajah Sahib was promoted to fright favouritism for the $20,000 race after Thursday’s training mishap to the former favourite, Golven .also bred in New Zealand.
Golven injured his back and will be lucky to get to the post. Rajah Sahib, which has managed only one placing in six starts in Brisbane, will be ridren by the Sydney jockey, George Moore. Brisbane has had 25 points of rain and more is expected. Locals say the track gets slushy after half an inch and this would suit Rajah Sahib
