The Budget debate continued yesterday, with speeches by Mr J. F. Luxton (Nat., Piako), Mr R. Macdonald (Lab., Grey Lynn), the Under-Secretary for Agriculture (Mr Carter) and Mr P. Rewiti (Lab., Eastern Maori). The chairman of the Cabinet committee on overseas shipping, the Minister of Labour (Mr Shand), made a statement on container shipping. The House adjourned at 4 p.m.
