GUITARIST DEAD

Body Found In Pool

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright)

LONDON. July 3. ■ Brian Jones, the guitarist who left the Rolling Stones pop group last month, was found dead early today. The police at East Grinstead said that three friends staying with him discovered his body in the floodlit swimming pool of his £30,000 home. Brian Jones was the most controversial member of the Rolling Stones since they began playing their own brand of wild pop music in 1962. He was twice convicted on drug charges, and in court it was said that he had been under psychiatric treatment for “pressures and tension.” He left the Rolling Stones suddenly last month, after announcing: “The Stones’ music is not to my taste any more. I want to play my own kind of music.”
