Tyre Cut
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 16. A man slashed a tyre on a traffic officer’s patrol car on Saturday night while it was parked at Mairangi Bay, but an attempt to track the man with a police dog failed. Traffic Officer M. Reid, of the Ministry of Transport, was sitting in the car but did not notice anything. Some youths saw a man creep away from the car into some scrub on the Pupuke golf course. Mr Reid found a deep three-ineh cut in the tyre. A police dog later tracked the man for a distance but lost the scent. When Mr Reid arrived at his home at North Shore later he found that garments on Ms clothes line had been slashed.
