BUILDING PLANS
Commissioner To Be Told It would be a courtesy to let the Electricity Distribution Commission know of the board’s plans to start work, in the near future, on a $400,000 administrative block at Hornby, the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board decided yesterday. Reminding members that the commission’s job was to reorganise supply authorities and districts, the Manager (Mr S. E. Slatter) said the commission would probably like to be assured that any buildings erected before any amalgamations were adequate for future needs. “I think we’ve done that, but it would be courteous to let the commission know,” he said.
The chairman (Mr T. F. Carter) said he understood the Wairoa board had been in trouble over building plans.
