Rodents Gain Supremacy
fN.Z. Pres, Assn.—Copyrinht) LONDON, June 10. Britain’s race of super rats is on the increase and inhabiting a thousand square miles of Shropshire and Montgomeryshire. They are immune to warfarin, the most widely-used rat poison in Britain, and scientists say that they are increasing steadily in number. The Ministry of Agriculture has prevented the spread of the rats to other parts of the country by encircling the area with a three-mile-wide rat-free belt, in which quickacting poisons, such as cyanide, are used.
