Eiffel Tower Injured

"The Press" Special Service CAMBRIDGE. Eiffel Tower, winner of the 1967 Great Northern Steeple, chase and .fourth In this year's race. Injured the tendon of his near foreleg in the Ellerslie Marathon on Monday.

His owner, Mr W. E. Hazlett, said at Cambridge yesterday that Eiffel Tower’s immediate future was "extremely doubtful." His trainer and rider, W. J. Hillis, said that he was not certain at which stage of the steeplechase the gelding had suffered the Injury.

The Hazlett team, Eiffel Tower, Mosque, Ettrick, and Koral are still quartered at Cambridge and according to Mr Hazlett will later go to Hawke’s Bay for the two-day meeting there.
