REMOVING A BRICK

You might have occasion to remove a single brick from a wall. Here is how to do it: You need a masonry drill fitted in a brace or electric drill, a cold chisel or an old flat chisel or an old screwdriver blade. Drill holes through the mortar joint at about fin intervals along the sides and bottom. Chisel or scrape out the mortar between the holes at the base and ease out some of the mortar at the sides. Loosen the brick then it should drop away from the mortar at the top. Pull out the brick and clear away the mortar.
