Obituary MR J. M. SHERRARD
Mr J. M. Sherrard, who died recently in Christchurch, was a senior tutor at the Christchurch Technical Institute and in administrative charge of its night school.. Although he taught English, Mr Sherrard had a master’s degree in history and was a member of the Canterbury regional committee of the National Historic Places Trust He was also closely associated with the founding of the Early Settlers’ Museum at Akaroa. | Mr Sherrard, who wrote a | history of the Kaikoura: County, was working on a history of Marlborough at the i time of his death.
Mr Sherrard was the only' senior tutor at the Technical Institute, and had taught there when it was known as the Technical College. I
Mr Sherrard, who was un-. married, is survived by a| sister. |
