Three Planes Modified

MASTERTON, May 13.
Wairarapa topdressing pilots were hack in the air ’ today in modified Cessna Agwagon aircraft. Three Agwagons being used in Wairarapa were modified yesterday after Civil Aviation Division inspectors had visited the area In an effort to ensure that the aircraft are not subject to future mishaps additional modification plans were sent to the division today. “Modifications that would eliminate power failure in the event of throttle control linkage or control failure had been drawn up before last Friday’s crash of an Agwagon near Masterton,” Mr D. Simmonds, engineering manager for Rex Aviation (N.Z.), Ltd, said in Masterton this morning.
