RISES OUTNUMBER FALLS IN ACTIVE TRADING
The share market continued to rise on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Rises well outnumbered falls in both lists, in generally smaller movement. Leaders, however, were steady. Trading was active throughout New Zealand.

There was no marked pattern among either rises or falls. Insurances were steady to firm, and breweries slightly easier.
Tasman, and Taupo Totara recorded good gains, and N.Z. Forest Products ex Bartholomew also gained. Steel and Tube fell another 5c after last week’s losses: the company announced a disappointing profit. Mount Isa gained 50c to 1120 c. The company last week announced a huge expansion programme.
Factors, which received a take-over bid from Dunlop, rose 12c to 57c, 2c off the theoretical bid price.
