Hallenstein Sales Up

DUNEDIN, May 13.
The increased sales pattern achieved by Hallenstein Brothers, Ltd, of Dunedin, was confidently expected to continue for the remaining nine weeks of the current year, the chairman of directors (Mr F. M. Halsted) said at an extraordinary general meeting of the company. Shareholders approved the one-for-10 bonus issue and the chairman said that the company would have no difficulty in maintaining the lit per cent dividend on increased capital. Sales in the June-December half were 12 per cent higher than the previous corresponding period and in the four months to April the increase was 14 per cent, said Mr Halsted.
Contract For Chch Firm (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 13. A tender of $98,800 for marble work at the new central library, Auckland, has been provisionally accepted by the Auckland City Council from the Canterbury Stone Company, Ltd. The tender was the lowest of three, ranging up to $134,429.
