S.L Dancing Award

The South Island championship for the seann triubhais under 18 years was won by Kim Whitta at the Christchurch competitions yesterday. The championship is the first to be awarded at the competitions, which are being held this week in four halls in the Shirley area.

The judge of the Highland dancing section (Mrs Betty Campbell, of Blenheim) said she was very impressed by the standard of dancing, and considered that Kim Whitta, at the age of 15, could perform with distinction anywhere in New Zealand.
