EXPERTS ON ROADING
Australians In N.Z.
A party of reading administrators from Australia is visiting New Zealand for a fortnight. Most of the party, which includes the administrative heads of the road authorities of the six states and the Commonwealth Department of Works, are members of the National Association of Australian State Roading Authorities, the main purpose of which is to secure harmony of outlook on road development among Australian roading authorities. The association, which was formed in 1934, assists in pooling technical and administrative experience and coordinates road research projects and standards. All members of the party are on the Australian Road Research Board, which has scheduled a meeting to coincide with the next meeting of the National Roads Board on May 21. The party will arrive in Christchurch on May 26 and inspect the northern motorway and the ChristchurchLyttelton road tunnel before returning to AustraUa the next day.
