Thefts Of Vehicles
A spate of vehicle thef's in Christchurch at the week-end continued last evening. Of 10 vehicles taken at the week-end, eight have been recovered. One was damaged when running off the road and through a fence. Within half an hour last evening, shortly before midnight, owners telephoned the Central Station to report three more vehicles missing.
The police at midnight had reports of 14 vehicles, including one from Timaru, which were still missing. Cars missing are: a 1967 Falcon station waggon, cream, DY4955; a 1950 Morris Minor, green, AN5069; a 1957 A 35, sea green, AY3035: a 1961 A4O, off-white, A 07047; a 1950 Hillman Minx, green, AKB6I; a 1963 Cortina, tight green, 85551: a Ford 8, twotone blue, AK2539; and missing from Timaru, a 1937 Wolseley 10 h.p., dark gr-y, AH9450. Motor and power cycles missing are: a Raleigh moped, maroon, 54166; a 1963 Triumph 500, red, 48011; a 1951 8.5. A., black with a red tank, 48503; a Puch, black, 54166; a B.S.A. 250, maroon, 43640; a 1964 Triumph Tiger 250 with leg shields, 52160.
