No Russian Music
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has decided not to play any Russian music in Czechoslovakia when it goes there at the end of this month for the Prague Spring Festival.
This wa the orchestra's Own decision, the general manager of the orchestra (Mr Raymond Few) was reported as saying. Czech musicians have imposed a ban on music by Russian composers. The R.P.O. will take to Czechoslovakia nearly 100 players, under the principal conductor, Rudolf Kempe. It will be the first British orchestra to visit Czechoslovakia since the Russian occupation of the country last year.
