Indoor Bowls
A. Whitty's four had little difficulty winning the Ashby Bergh Cup at an Indoor bowls tournament -conducted by the Canterbury Association at the weekend. , . „ L. Whineray, playing at No. 2, was on top form throughout and it was largely because of his play that Whitty's four was able to win so convincingly. Results:—
Quarter-finals: A. Whitty 10. P. Nee 8: G. Forrester 6 C. Ward 5: W. Etweli 9. Mrs P. Lovelace 6: W. Berkeley 11. T. Austin 1.
Semi-finals: Whitty 8, Berkeley 6: Etweli 10. Forrester 4. Final Whitty 15. Etweli 5. The following representative indoor bowls teams have been selected to play matches later this month.
