AUCKLAND.
A group of fewer than 30 badminton players of the Auckland Badminton Association established a new world record of 55 hours of continuous playing, when they called time in Badminton Hall at 10 o’clock last night.
The previous world record of 52 hours was held by a group of English policemen. The project, which was a sponsored one to raise funds for extensions to Badminton Hall, expended almost 200 shuttles.
The project went smoothly throughout and involved players from every city club. But the restricted number involved were glad to call it quits with a safe three-hour margin over the English time to their credit,
