LONDON, May 11.
A car carrying the former United States Vice-President, Mr Hubert Humphrey, was attacked by students in London last night, but Mr Humphrey was unhurt. The incident occurred when Mr Humphrey called at a hotel for a sandwich and beer. Hearing of his arrival, a group of London School of Ecnomics students opposed to the Vietnam war, stormed the hotel.
Mr Humphrey was hustled out to a waiting car, which the students kicked and pounded. Two television reporters trying to protect him were punched and kicked.
