. Racial Clash In New York CN.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright! NEW YORK, May 8. Officials at the City College of New York pledged to keep the school open today—“with adequate police protection”— ’ after a bloody pitched battle yesterday, which was one of the ugliest in the recent campus violence throughout the United States. At least seven white students were injured In the clash between black youths and white counter protesters, shortly after the school had been closed for the day because of a series of violent incidents. On another city campus, police were called to Queensborough Community College to oust 50 white radicals who had been sitting in on the fourth floor of the libraryadministration building since April 21, The students damaged wires, flooded offices and rifled flies before fleeing from the police. Negro students seized six Howard University buildings in Washington yesterday, and riot-trained police ousted antiwar protesters from the administration building at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
