HELP FOR FAMILY
Centres For Gifts
The Tai Tapu Residents’ Association on Thursday evening decided to set up centres where donations may be made to assist Mr and Mrs N. Rattray and their seven young children, who lost their possessions when a fire destroyed their home in Gebbie’s Valley on Wednesday. The secretary of the association (Dr I. Weatherall) said that the association knew of persons who wished to assist but did not know where to leave donations or to whom they should make offers. Centres where donations could be made were Cane’s Motukarara Store, the Tai Tapu Butchery, Brown’s Mini Market and Suckling’s Store, also in Tai Tapu. Donations could be posted to the assocition's president, Mr P. R. Robins, P.O. Box 8, Tai Tapu, and inquiries could be made : by telephone at Tai Tapu 853. , “The fact that 16 double . beds for the Rattray family ' have not only been offered ; but delivered to Mr W. J. • Baker shows the need for co- : ordination,” Dr Weatherall said.
"Our association is going to circularise the district. Neil Rattray is well known in this tightly-knit district, and we know that many will wish to help the family.”
