School Bids Head Good-bye
The retiring headmaster of the Burnside High School (Mr C. Cross), was bidden farewell yesterday afternoon by pupils and staff at an assembly held under the clump of cabbage trees which forms the school’s badge. ' A farewell speech was made t by the head boy prefect, Neil Wilson, and the deputy-head boy prefect, Owen Ragg, presented Mi* ’ Cross with a mounted portrait. 1 The portrait will stay at the school. Mr Cross, who has been headmaster at Burnside for nine years ! and a term, was also pre- • sented with a school ‘ paper knife. s ■ The head girl prefect, Neroli r Jones, presented Mrs Cross with a bouquet
