Tyre Regulations
Sir,—Would Joselyn Darling prefer to drive her lethal weapon among the lesser privileged pedestrian pea-
sants? Everyone has a right to own a car, but no-one can deny that they are becoming more expensive to maintain through ever-increasing standards. As a service station attendant, my observations may enlighten her. (1) Some of the recently rejected tyres were good for many more safe miles. (2) The most lethal part on any car is the “nut” that holds the wheel. (3) Her views are those of a minority, comprising mainly drivers of company cars.— Yours, etc., M. May 7, 1969.
