MAORIS TO BE CAPPED
Record At Auckland (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 7. A record 16 Maori students from Auckland University will be capped on Friday. Among them will be Mr and Mrs R. Kirikiri who will both receive a bachelor of arts degree. Mrs Roimata Kirikiri teaches Maori at Otara College and her husband is doing honours in anthropological linguistics. She is a daughter of Dr D. I. Sinclair, a medical practitioner in Hamilton.
Students from the same family to be capped are Kauaterangi and Tamati Reedy, first cousins, and members of a well-known East Coast family. Tamati. a former Maori All Black, will be capped 8.A., and Kauaterangi, B. Com. Others to be capped are.— MA.: Peter Sharpies. 8.A.: Katerina Bennet, Edward Brown, Pine Harrison, Abraham Hurihanganui, Sydney Jackson, Robert Mahuta, Constance Mountain, and Joseph Naeden. M.Sc.: Thompson Winiata. L 1.8.: I. Short B. Com.: Monita Delamere.
