COUNCIL OF EUROPE
Greek Issue Deferred (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, May 7. The military-backed Greek regime may still find itself faced with expulsion, from the Council of Europe, despite the Council’s decision yesterday to defer a vote on the issue until the next ministerial meeting. That is scheduled for next December, but Mr Willy Brandt, the West German Foreign Minister and chairman of the Council’s ministerial committee, told a press conference that an earlier meeting could be held if necessary.
The committee also urged expediting the work of the special commission on human rights which is investigating the situation in Greece, and voted to keep the issue before the Council.
