Light Forbes Is Auckland Fancy

“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. In Hie probable absence of Gerrand, Light Forbes is likely to be a solid favourite for the C. F. Mark Memorial Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. concession double on the opening night of the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting at Alexandra Park tomorrow. Gerrand is expected to contest the Willow Wave Stakes. The stylish winner of the Queen City Pace three starts back, Light Forbes, showed his fitness when he beat a strong field at barrier trials at Alexandra Park on Tuesday. His main opposition may come from Ail Real and Wipe Out. Highland Flight is fancied for the second leg, the Fantom Handicap. The Weather has been showery but the track has not been affected. Red King’s Win

Red King a candidate for the Welcome Handicap at Oamaru tomorrow, graduated from maiden company with a win over Real Hail and Caddy In the John Edmonds Handicap at the Waltakl Trotting Club’s nontotalisator meeting at Washdyke on Anzac Day. A gelding by Hal o’Matlc from Mighty Imp, Red King is raced by F. A. and Mrs Skate, of Ashburton. He was driven in his win by K. D. Townley, of Tlnwald.
