REPORTS ON WATER USE
Deadline Extended (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 8. The deadline for people, companies and communities to inform their regional water boards that they are lawfully using natural water has been extended for another year to April 1, 1970. A decision to extend the. original deadline date of April 1, 1969, as set out in the Water and Soil Conservation Act, 1968, was first made by the Water Allocation Council and later approved by the Cabinet, the Minister of Works (Mr Allen) said today. There were still many people who had not reported lawful use of natural water and who, in fact, were not sure whether they should. It was only fair to give them more time.
