TRANSPORT HEARING

Applications Granted Nine applications were granted by the No. 9 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr J. M. Dwyer) at a hearing in Christchurch yesterday. Ronald Ethelbert Tibbotts, of Christchurch, was granted a new continuous goods service licence with one. vehicle authority to carry coke, firewood, slack and, cement under contract to G. Me-' Clatchie and Company, Ltd, between March 1 and October 31 each year, and Rex Melville Welsh, of Christchurch, was granted an amendment to his goods service licence by the addition of one vehicle authority for general goods. Douglas Alan Handley, of Christchurch, was granted transfer of a goods service licence from William Lavery Oldman. Stacey and Hawker, Ltd. was granted the extension of one vehicle authority to permit the carriage of mail on the Christchurch - Hororata - Springfield route, and Palmer and Doak, Ltd, was granted two appications for removal of rental service licences.

Renewals of rental service licences were also granted Gold Band Services, Ltd. of Christchurch, Utility Rental Vehicles. Ltd. of Christchurch (with the addition of three extra vehicles) and Tasman Rental Cars (Christchurch), Ltd (with the addition of three motorised caravans). The Authority revoked the passenger service licence of Jet Boat Travel, Ltd, of Kaiapoi. which had ceased business, and reserved decision on an application by Alexander Miller, of Coalgate, for the transfer of a goods service licence from Douglas Brown, of Coalgate.
