Terminal ‘In Use By 1971’
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 8. Part of the $3.5m international section of the permanent terminal at Auckland Airport could be in use by 1971, the Minister of Transport (Mr Gordon) said in Auckland today. “I think two years and a half from now is a pretty reasonable target to have part of the international section operating,” he said. The international section could be completed in 1972, be said. No date had been fixed for a start on the domestic wing. The National Airways Corporation had said that the existing terminal would suffice for six, seven or even 10 years. It would be an advantage to have work on the domestic section follow on after the international sectidn.
