Promotion Planned Efforts to encourage Canadian tourists to come to New will be made by a ! Christchurch-based travel company. The chairman of directors iof Trans Holdings, Ltd (Mr J. P. Cronin), said yesterday that the company had appointed Mr G. Donaldson its representative in Toronto, and was collaborating with Air New Zealand and Air Canada in a South Pacific promotion campaign in Canada’s eastern provinces. / The company was already promoting the South Pacific in the United States through its Los Angeles subsidiary, which was established last July, Mr Cronin said. Air Canada’s decision to use the company’s packaged holidays in its South Pacific promotion was a major advance for the company, he said. The promotion was aimed at diverting Canadians away from Europe, Mexico, Florida and the Caribbean to the South Pacific. Canadians, particularly in the Toronto and Montreal areas, spend ! about $3OOO million a year on J foreign travel.
