Fourth Take-over By D.B.
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 7. Dominion Breweries, Ltd, of Auckland, has concluded negotiations to acquire the whole of the issued share capital of Hardwicke and Robertson, Ltd, a Wellington wine and spirits and tobacco merchant Hardwicke and Robertson is a private company established in 1925. It has a branch in New Plymouth and also carries on business in Hawke’s Bay. The terms of the transaction have not been announced. BID SUCCEEDS Dominion Breweries said today it has received acceptances of its offer for the shares of T. and W. Young, Ltd, from the holders of 92
per cent of the issued capital. The offer, which closes on May 15, is now unconditional. Dominion Breweries has this year completed four takeovers of companies in the liquor trade, all in the southern part of the North Island. They are Tui Brewery, Taranaki Brewery, T. and W. Young, and Hardwicke and Robertson.
