Canterbury Kennel Show

The Cocker Spaniel, Soot Dancer of Mackie, owned by Mr T. M. Adamson, of Ashburton, was the best dog In show at the mid-year show of the Canterbury Kennel Association. The runner-up was the German Shepherd, champion Chianti of Armadale, owned by Mesdames. Pears and Mclntosh. The best puppy in the show was the Samoyed Volnalka Romanov, owned by N. K. Fraser and Mrs Fraser, and the best junior was the Shetland sheepdog, Gidget of Greenbriars, owned by Mrs J. B. Doake. There were 389 dogs of all breeds in the show. The judges were Mr E. Schache (best in show, terriers, toys, gundogs and non-sporting groups) and Mrs L. Wright (sheep, cattledog and hound groups). The following were the challenge winners and the best of breed.
