Take-over Bid For Epsom

LONDON. The Government - sponsored Horse Bace Betting Levy Board has announced a take-over bid tor Epsom racecourse, the home of the world-famous English Derby. The Levy Board, which raises more than 83m a year for the Improvement of borse racing, has lodged a £1,132,000 bld for United Racecourses, the company which owns the Epsom and Sandown Park racecourses. A statement from United Bacecourses Is expected today. The Derby, the most important of the five English racing daisies run each season, will be run at Epsom on June 4, with total prise money of more than £BO,OOO.
