Backlog Of Waggons

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 30. A considerable backlog of railway waggons had been caused by the annual 11-day survey of the rail-road ferry Aranui, a Railways Department official said today. The department was making every effort to have the backlog cleared, and expected to be back to normal by the beginning of June. However, the Aramoana would then be put in dry-dock for its annual survey.

The Aranui was now back on the run and the backlog was slowly being reduced.
