London-Sydney Air Race

(N.Z. Presa A san.—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 27 Plans are under way for a $25,000 air race from London to Sydney, the president of the Royal Federation of Aero Clubs of Australia (Mr G. A. Lloyd) said in Sydney today. Mr Lloyd said his federation and the Royal Aero Club of London had begun organ ising the 14.000-mile race, which would form part of the Captain Cook bicentenary celebrations in Australia, and would follow the route of the aviation pioneers Sir Ross Smith and Sir Keith Smith. 50 years ago.
