Dr J. W. Blunt, a research assistant at the University of Oxford, was yesterday appointed lecturer in chemistry at the University of Canterbury; Dr R. W. G. Syme, a post-doctoral fellow at Ames Laboratory. lowa State University, was appointed lecturer in physics, and Mr J. jS. Sniaill, a post-graduate I istudent. was appointed assist-, ant lecturer in mechanical engineering. The resignation of Mr R D. I Springborg. assistant lecturer in political science, was received.
