FARMERS IRATE’
Stoppages At Works
(N.Z. Press Association)
HAMILTON, March 19.
Members of Federated Farmers at Te Aroha were irate about incessant stoppages at freezing works and had passed a remit suggesting that farmers hold back stock from the works for an indefinite period, the Waikato meat and wool section of Federated Farmers was told in Hamilton yesterday. The Te Aroha delegate, Mr I. S. Thomas, said farmers in his area were also “irate at the powers-that-be mainly the Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) —for failing to do anything to halt the petty stoppages in freezing works.”
